Saturday night, we had the pleasure of capturing the passion of the band Harley and the V-Twins (a country, rock, and blues band) as they played a show at The Boot in Loveland, Colorado. Harley and his crew are highly skilled and the crowd was loving every second of their performance…it’s clear why these guys play over 200 shows a year around the country.
Going in, we wanted to portray the energy and personality of the band. The Boot is a fairly tight space with a packed stage and what became an even more packed dance floor as soon as the band started rocking. Harley and the V-Twins is comprised of three members – and from guitar to bass to drums, all an absolute joy to photograph.
We were able to use a variety of lenses and thankful for the ten frames per second that our Canon 7D Mark II bodies offer as sometimes the perfect shot was hidden in the sixth or seventh frame!
Working this show is similar to working a sporting event or a wedding for us. Lots of energy, movement, and passion.

Nate Grew up in Anchorage AK, where He started training Martial Arts when he was young (Nate placed 3rd in the Jr Olympics, Tallahassee, FL. 1991) and Snowboarding, (Nate had minor endorsements with a local Skate/Snowboard shop, G&B Skate and a small Ski Area, Hill Top Ski Area, in Anchorage AK. 1992-95. Nate was in a commercial for Hilltop 93-96). Nate was always interested in Music and particularly the drums. He started talking with and became friends with the drummers at his church while he was in High School and they gave him permission to come play their drums in the church in the afternoons. Nate’s mom happened to come in one day and thought the band was doing a rehearsal and peeked in. Seeing it was him she went home and told his dad we have to get him a Drum Set. From there Nate was able to start picking up pretty quick and was able to soon fill in at his church occasionally. Nate met a friend at school at that point, Benji Lee (from the band, Supagroup) and they started the first band Nate played in together, Rrobot.
Nate has now been drumming since the beginning of 1993. His Musical background has grown over that time and because of the many people he has had the chance to work and build relationships with, his playing varies from: Country, Blues, Rock, Metal, Celtic, Jam, R&B, Hip-Hop, Punk and Gospel. Nate is as comfortable in the studio as he is on the stage. He has had the opportunity to record on many live and in studio albums. Nate also gives Drum Instruction.. Nate has had the pleasure of touring the nation on multiple occasions with different groups including: Long Cut, Celtica- Pipes Rock, Brad Lee Schroeder, The Symbols, Don Woods, Harley & the V-Twins, Tony C’de Baca, Slick Machine, and many others. Nate also plays For Timberline Church in Ft. Collins, CO when He is available to Worship with them. Nate loves sharing His passion for playing both in performance and in teaching.
